“The Vortex” also Vortex Comics is a Media, News and Publishing company situated in the ever evolving creative hub of Lagos, Nigeria, West Africa whose mission is to revamp and publish comics of purely African origin to a wider audience on a global scale. Reviving comic titles by procuring the publishing rights as June XII and Dark Edge created by Ibrahim Ganiyu who we fondly call “Sai Gai”; Mumu Juju created by Etubi Onucheyo such among others.

Summary
Comic created by Lagos ComicCon Co-founder Ayodele Elegba, Strike Guard (Abolaji Coker) is about a Political Science undergraduate from the University of Lagos. After being murdered by a cult group (gang) and dumped in a grave which belonged to a Yoruba deity he is given a second chance to live. However, this did not come without a price. The spirit of the deity, Ajagbeja, in return uses his body as a host. Abolaji agrees vowing to use his powers against the cult group that murdered him. However his battle reaches out to helpless citizens of Lagos faced by a new wave of spirit entities.

Abolaji used to have a very close friend, Peter who was killed by some campus cultists while he tried to save him. Abolaji had been initiated the cultist red group when he chose to fall in Love with Chiamaka who is also a love interest to the capon of the cult group. Having failed the first time, the cult gang decides to kidnap him and summarily shot him point black in the head. Thinking he was dead, the cult group drives him all the way to Ogun State where they dumped his body into a pit.
Unknown to them that was the grave Ajagbeja had been thrown into after he was killed in his betrayal. Ajagbeja who had sworn to return during his dying minutes makes a deal with Abolaji soul which was still wondering on the earth at the time.
The deal was that Ajagbeja will have a chance to live again by coexisting in Abolaji body while Abolaji on the other hand will have the opportunity to Avenge Peter's death and also get to be with Chichi,his love interest.
Abolaji gets home and realizing that he cannot fight crime with his face in the open decides to wear peters Comic Con costume as a protection of his identity and those he loved.
That day, STRIKEGUARDwas born!!!
